Lead 15-person creative team of writers, producers, editors, motion graphics, media managers, and archivists from concept development to final execution in delivering hundreds of award-winning videos for Milken Family Foundation (MFF) and its sister foundations. Video assets air on TV, web, and live events, and range from short-form documentaries to educational and corporate strategy videos. Manage project budgets up to $8.0M.

 ·       Saved $2.0M in annual post-production staff and equipment costs and eliminated need for external contractors by effectively matching existing employees’ strengths and skills to projects, and executive producing hundreds of videos annually with a $1.0M production budget.

 ·       Manage $8.0M budget for the American Dream Video Project (ADVP), an archive of interviews that has currently captured over 2.0k individuals from 120+ countries exploring the meaning of the American Dream.  Final project will be displayed in Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream (MCAAD) Visitor Center on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., opening in 2025 and expecting to draw 400.0K visitors annually, as well as its online research library located on the MCAAD website.

 ·       Conceptualized and beta-tested first-ever digital asset management system (DAM) with internal AI transcription functions, in partnership with software developers. New AI-featured DAM searches for complete phrases and returns results in seconds. New DAM includes globally searchable text of thousands of hours of American Dream interviews, serving as the backbone of project’s online research library.

 ·       Raised over $3.0M annually for both the Challenge and Young Investigator Awards, by collaborating with Prostate Cancer Foundation and effectively conveying patient stories using short form documentaries.

 ·       Drove staff development and productivity through providing ongoing mentoring and coaching, collaborating with HR on corrective plans, when needed, and conducting annual reviews with merit increase recommendations.

Director of Post-Production, Creative Services                                                                        2018 – 2022

Managed team of 6 editors and motion graphics animators. Collaborated with team, producers, and clients on creative and technical quality for over 300 videos annually. Maintained relationships with music licensing companies and equipment vendors for editing software, on-prem storage and Linear Tape-Open (LTO) magnetic tape data storage. [AVID, Adobe, Facilis, Storage DNA, APM Music, Universal Production Music]

·       Provided final review and approval of all projects before presenting to Vice-President of Creative Services and clients. Assigned editors to projects with producers based on project needs and editor strengths.

·       Established an action plan for the archival team to digitize 40.0k video tapes and migrate over 1.0M digital files into CatDV video and photo DAM. Reduced migration schedule 6+ months and cost over 30% by developing workflow scripts and automations to transfer existing metadata to new system.

·       Safeguarded productivity and quality at high levels by quickly implementing remote shooting and editing workflows during Covid-19.

·       Co-Produced and edited first-ever branded podcast with 88.8k downloads and 26.2k unique listeners featuring Chairman, and special guests, such as Steve Ballmer, Eric Schmidt, and Deepak Chopra. Developed brand identity and creative vision for over 100 episodes of Conversations with Mike Milken, a podcast with global leaders across a variety of industries on COVID-19 and economic recovery. ·       Aligned Chairman’s pre-recorded keynote speeches with foundation’s overall communication strategy, incorporating creative PowerPoint presentations for internal and external communications. Excellent!

 

Senior Video Editor and Post-Production Supervisor                                                                2008 – 2018

Mentored 4-person team of editors while also editing high profile projects and color grading, sound mixing, and technical troubleshooting for entire post-production department.

 ·       Drew tens of thousands of views to launch of online Milken Archive of American Jewish Music website, virtual museum, and curriculum through strategically identifying content from thousands of hours of raw footage and creating promotional pieces, short documentaries, and music videos.

·       Reduced time 25% between filming and release of paid content by streamlining production and post processes for Milken Institute live events and panels.

 ·       Preserved foundation’s video legacy by transitioning from analog to digital and integrating archival services into post-production workflow.

·       Saved hours of restoring footage by creating organized workflow that updates past edit master content within minutes for rebranding and reuse.

 ·       Served as onsite Broadcast Director at live event recordings. Directed up to 5 cameras while using switcher for screens and records.
